Zinc is thermal sprayed using either an electric arc or a combustion flame process. The electric arc process, which allows higher deposition rates with improved economy, uses two consumable zinc wire electrodes. the wires given opposite electric charges and are fed close together to maintain an electric arc, causing the wires to melt. The molten material is sprayed coating onto the prepared surface with compressed air. Zinc and zinc alloy thermal sprayed coatings can be easily controlled by the equipment operator to achieve better performance.

Process of Zinc Thermal Spray

The metalizing process starts with preparing the surface of the product. Then a metal wire is melted in metalizing spray gun these molten metal is propelled on a coating surface by using atomized air to form the coating. A layer of sealant is applied over the coated surface for finishing and aesthetic look.
